2009 : Re-Cap
It has really been awhile since i visited this page or even... very very long ago since i updated the page. Year 2009 has been quite an interesting year for me. In short it has been a year full of achievements for me.
I have to pen this down before i contracted Alzheimer.
January and February of 2009
Life is rather stagnant at this point of time. We have this Graduate Leadership Program in which a group of Engineer whom been selected under this program will have to undergo 6 months of training which ends in Feb 09. Thus, as a sign of appreciation towards the resources and contribution of the company we have a Graduation to mark the end of the training.
March 2009
I had my birthday celebrated in Cameron Highlands. I wanted to be there very long ago but due to inefficiencies and the poor logistics arrangements, my trips were halted all these while and this is the only and the first time i make it up there. Fantastic and yet memorable especially when you're celebrating with someone your dearly treasure.
On the 30th of March
My Staff Engineer was not so happy with my work. Thus I have to stay up to 9pm at night to complete my assignment + Finding + Report to be sent out as a publications. I got it done and sent it out before i went home, of course with his endorsement that the report is fine.
March 31st 2009.
I have to pen down this date. This is the day that changes my whole entire working life + opportunities for career advancements.
My company MD is known to be stern and yet precise.
He was in the loop on the report that I sent out last night which i wasn't aware and to my surprise, I got a compliment from him together with 2 other Directors.
Nevertheless, some gave a bad remark on my work but that is part and parcel of life right.
The email were circulated and immediately became a profile news among engineers.
I got called up by my boss to present the materials to our counterpart in the states.
May to November 2009
After months of negotiation on the timeline and engineer coverages, I finally granted a chance to attend LeanSix Sigma Black Belt class which is applicable to engineer above 1 year of service. I am only 8 months at the time when i join the class.
This also make me one of the youngest engineer to be in and it is really an honour to me.
Within this time, i know time waits for no man, It is my nature to speed things up. I doesn't not like to procrastinate.
In the mean time i was told that we will be able to be a certified lean six sigma black belt once if we are able to complete 4 Projects with total savings of USD 1 million dollars. These are the pre requisite.
My intention initially were to get done with my projects without having to worry about it later on after i am done with my training. 4 months given to complete 4 projects which means i have to complete at least one at a month. It's a challenging + uphill task and trust me its is never easy.
Eventually my Hardwork got paid off with myself with 10 others being Certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt on November 26th 2009.

On December the 1st, is my late mother's birthday and if she is still around she will turn 54.
My staff engineer came to me and told me that Boss will have a good news for you.
The next day, at about 8.30am just before the conference call with the states counterparts, i met my boss at the pantry and he broke the good news to me which he has shortlisted me to be interviewed by the VP and also the NPI DIrector in SanJose which took place 2 days later which turn out that I was selected to be assigned there for a year.
Christmas, i celebrated with ZhiLi Chong Hui Rowen and Jimmy which came down all the way from SP. The countdown part i wasn't with them as i have to go back to office to attend some issues.
